Transferring songs from USB drive to iTunes

I have my itunes library in a USB drive. I decided to import my itunes library from USB drive to the itunes. It was working fine. I wanted to do it by little by little since I have lots of songs. I had around 1,000 songs left to import and out of nowhere they're not been added. I have tried unchecking and checking the "Copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library" in the preferences tab. I have tried consolidating the files. This songs are not duplicates. It just out of nowhere they were not being added into itunes library. I need help, please! I have windows 10.

Okay. (I asked because FLAC files will not be added to iTunes. Not only does it not add them, but it gives no indication that it hasn't.)

The next thing to consider therefore is whether they have been added, but for some reason you're not seeing them. To check for this, use the Songs view in your Library and display the Date Added column:

  • note the Date Added column in the screenshot above. If it isn't displayed (in the Songs view), right click in any column header bar and select Date Added from the context menu that pops up
  • tap on the Date Added header and ensure that the arrow is in the column and pointing down. If it is pointing up, simply tap the header again to reverse the sorting
  • with the songs in Date Added order, and with the most recent ones at the top, can you see the missing songs in the date position that they were added? If you can, are all the relevant fields for a song filled in (i.e. is the artist name present, is the album title there)? Do the songs play?
