iTunes for Windows doesn't show all songs that are in iTunes folder

iTunes for Windows doesn't recognize most songs even though the songs are in the iTunes folder.

I transferred my iTunes folder from MacBook Pro (Mid2014 macOS Big Sur 11.7.10) to LG Windows 11 laptop (Windows 11 Home Version 22H2) by copying the iTunes folder from Mac to external seagate drive to Music folder on LG laptop. The song files are in the LG iTunes folder and will play with iTunes if I open the file (which shows the M4A file associated with iTunes) and then iTunes recognizes the song. I have 871 songs so I don't want to have to physically open every file.

What better solution(s) are there?

Thank you,

Mark

On iTunes' top bar menu use File/Add Folder to Library. Navigate to the folder with the songs in it and add that folder.

If you have already added a song contained in that folder, I think it may get added again, in which case you will probably want to delete one of the two entries.

If you only need to add a single file in a folder containing multiple files, use File/Add File to Folder instead. In this case you go into the folder and select the individual file.
