Screenshot leaves a white square

Macbook Pro Sonoma

Taking a screen shot occasionally leaves a white square with everything else grey.

I found a workaround by changing screen resolution a few times, but it's not ideal.

Seems like a graphics driver issue.

it sounds to me that you are initiating a screen recording rather than a screenshot. when you use "shift-command-5" there are options for both of those operations.

to make a screenshot, you need to choose one of the three options to the left.

but for a screen recording, you use one of the two options to the right.

and if you do initiate a recording, you can use the "stop button" that appears on your menubar.
