When trying to update apps it is prompting me to sign into a different Apple ID, even though its never been signed into on this device.

When I click the update button it prompts me to sign into a different Apple ID than what has ever been on my device, I have never had this issue before, and it has been well over 3 years that I have been using my new ID and info on my phone and it has never become an issue before for me. Now I have allegedly over 20 apps that cannot be updated for whatever reason.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 17

Are you absolutely positive that that AppleID has never been on that device? Absolutely positive? You only see that for apps that were purchased with a different Apple ID.

In the support article: If you subscribe to Apple One and use a different Apple ID for iCloud - Apple Support Apple alludes to using a different Apple ID just for media, subscriptions, and purchases, but doesn't describe how to do this.

In iOS/iPadOS: Go to Settings > [your Apple ID] > Media & Purchases. Sign out of the current ID and sign in with a different one.

In Ventura: First, quit Settings. Then, in App Store, choose “Sign Out” in the Store menu, then click on the “sign in” button that appears in the main window. You can then sign into the other account. (from: Using different Apple ID for media & … - Apple Community )

I can think of no way now to get apps signed in with a different ID onto a device unless that device was either signed into a different ID completely, or just signed into a different ID on the app store alone.

I suggest you pose this conundrum to Apple:

If the presented options do not resolve your issue, keep experimenting with any series of selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
