Returning Apple Pencil

Hi there, can I return an Apple Pencil that has been opened? I ordered the usb-c version but if it's not what I'm looking for then I think I might want to exchange it for the Apple Pencil 2.

If you purchased this Apple Pencil, directly from Apple, you have 14 days from the purchase date, to return it for a full refund ... even if you opened the box.
