So I hadn’t backed up any of those photos but when I had got the new phone I purchased the 200g iCloud storage hoping they would come back but didn’t it well a couple thousand pictures of my son I was hoping to get those back

You would have needed to already had the iCloud storage and a backup or iCloud Photos would have needed to already been active. You can’t retroactively retrieve photos that weren’t backed up if the device they are on can’t be accessed in a way to do a backup or turn on iCloud Photos for syncing. If you have a backup on a computer you may be able to get those photos but it won’t have the ones not included in that backup. Or if you were using another service like Google Photos to backup your pictures you could retrieve them from there.

I had recently broke my phone I had pictures that weren’t uploaded to iCloud due to storage but I recently bought storage the day one I got my phone and now my photos don’t show up how do I get them back
