How to downgrade to Ventura from Sonoma

I am looking to reinstall Venturas os because Sonoma didn’t support one of my main apps I use for church. And that’s a big no-no. I read the articles from the website and it “said” it supported Sonoma. But once I installed it, I found out that wasn’t so true. Now I need assistance trying to go back to Ventura. I tried on my own and received an error message saying it’s updated to Sonoma

Yikes! I can understand. I will provide a recent article from Macworld that was published 3 days ago that provides detailed steps on downgrading to Ventura. I still recommend treading lightly with this approach and make sure you do have a backup in case something goes wrong.

Apple does not provide a Support Article to downgrade to Ventura, so you would be relying on other users experiences which is possible by searching these forums. This can be done by using the Search tap on the top of this page. There may be some great information there, but some things may work for one user but not so well for others.

I will defer to another user on reverting back to Ventura. It is not easy with a potential of data loss and should be a last resort if you attempt that approach.

I would first attempt to work with the developer of the app that you are having trouble with. If they claim it now supports Sonoma, it may be as simple as downloading an update. If there is not an update available yet for the app, they may offer a workaround until they can get the app updated.
