How to disable VPN before login on macBook Air 2017

Hi guys,

I have a macBook Air 2017 (A1466) that I didn't used for a long time.

Now, I forgot my password to log in, so I tried to do the password recory.

But now it says it can't connect to the apple ID-server.

I have tries almost everything I could find on the internet.

But what I'm guessing... I sometime used HideMyAss VPN provider.

Now, I think the "kill switch" or the VPN-settings are still active...

Therefore I can't login and reset the password.

Is there any way to disable those settings BEFORE login?

As the most tutorials only speaking about changing after logged in...

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13
