When streaming a movie on my Apple tv The sound for the main characters now comes in at avery low level and muddled while the sound for special effects or off screen dialogue comes in very loud and sharp. this just started recently. I've changed the HDMI cable and done a reset . No improvement. My apple Tv is not the latest. It's model A1842 64GB

It seems like you may have set Apple TV to use surround sound, but your audio setup doesn’t have speakers connected for a center channel (where most of the dialog is). If you use a two-speaker system, then try setting Apple TV to stereo.
