iCloud addresses blocking my work domain emails

I have a domain-based email for my Design Studio. Starting about a week or so ago, all emails sent to @icloud addresses have been blocked. All with a 554 error code such as.

<address@icloud.com>: host mx02.mail.icloud.com[17.57.155.34] said: 554 5.7.0 Blocked - see

https://support.proofpoint.com/dnsbl-lookup.cgi?ip=[redacted] (in reply to RCPT TO command)

Four inquires to proofPoint have produced no response or relief. Is there any way to clean this up Apparently iCloud has decided I'm "bad" or something.... This also happens attempting to send to my own iCloud address! Frustrating!

I’m a little unclear about the setup here…

If you have your own mail server, check your mail server configuration:

Your mail server DNS configuration must absolutely be set up correctly; a DNS A or AAAA record, and forward and reverse must match.

If you are using Apple’s domain hosting:

Use Custom Email Domain with iCloud Mail - Apple Support

If you want to test your email server DMARC, SPF, DKIM, etc:

Useful information. I have a domain-based email address set up by my hosting provider for my business domain. I have had this address for years. So it's "my" server, but I do not directly administer it, my provider does. As of January 28th, all mails from my work address sent to recipients with @icloud.com addresses are getting the 554 5.7.0 Blocked error. Messages to clients at other domains are working normally.

The problem being that mails sent from myaddress@fantastic-realities.com to recipients at anyaddress@icloud.com are blocked. Apple Support has today suggested to me that it is a server level problem at my email provider that they need to fix.

I have passed on the results (PASS) of the DMARC test to my provider.

Spamminess does not appear to be an issue, as the block seems to affect all mails from my domain address, even plain text, to @icloud.com users. But tested the first blocked message anyway.

Good stuff. Your email is almost perfect

Score : 8.8/10

And my IP Address did not appear against 24 of the most common IPv4 blocklists.

So seems to be a specific issue between my provider and iCloud's servers... arrrrrgggghhhhh....

Apple Support is very likely correct.

Confirm your DNS, DMARC, DKIM, and SPF are correctly configured on your mail server.

Some hosting providers will provide these settings, some will require their tenants (you) to configure the mail server.

Once your server passes mail server configuration tests akin to those linked earlier, then you have fodder for a discussion with Apple Support.

It’s also possible somebody else that’s also a tenant of the mail hosting service got spam happy and got everybody RBL’d.
