iPhone 14 - Still receiving Alerts/Notifications on mute

When my phone is on mute (volume on the pull down menu all the way down, volume all the way down in Settings, switch on the side of the phone normal/not red) I still receive loud notifications for text messages and other alerts. It doesn’t matter if I am on focus or do not disturb, this is still a problem. I compared all my settings with my husband’s iphone, they are identical, and he doesn’t have this problem. I have no numbers in my contact favorites either.

Please help! I should have a quit phone on mute, right?

Then please check the following.

Check your DND status - Settings > Focus [Do Not Disturb]; Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Check BedTime Status - Clock App; Use Bedtime to track your sleep on your iPhone - Apple Support
Check your iPhone Sound Volume; Adjust the volume on your iPhone - Apple Support
Check Call Audio Routing; Call Audio Routing Bluetooth / Speaker / Automatic
Check Auto Answer Calls; Turn off Auto Answer Calls
Check the list of Blocked Numbers --> Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone ...

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately the issue is mainly around messenger and receiving texts - I have my volume on mute (both on drop down menu and in settings) but NOT on silent mode as I still want to be alerted to incoming calls, but the text alerts are still coming through and interrupting my professional day.

I know this is not normal because other iPhones don’t do this.
