phone is frozen

I cannot turn my phone off or unlock it. Its frozen how to I turn it off when its frozen?

This works for me with an iPhone 13, and previously 13 Mini.

Does Apple Support know whether this is an identified iOS issue, and whether there is a patch due? It's becoming more and more common on my 13 and it's just over a year old (iOS 17.3).
