My husband's iPhone was stolen, but his phone was not backed up on iCloud. His Apple Watch still has all of his contacts, etc. He cannot pair his watch with his new phone without erasing the content of the watch. Is it possible to backup the watch on iCloud?

Data sync’d to iCloud or third party accounts are not backed up anyway.
