MacBook Pro say backup failed because the computer is running on battery

I have a Macbook Pro that is less than a year old. All that time, I get a message that backups have failed for (#) days because the computer is running on battery. It's a laptop, so it ALWAYS runs on battery! Can I fix this?

Open Time Machine Settings, click Options, then click the switch to "Back up on battery power".

Or, make sure your laptop is connected to the charger if you are near power when using it.

Finally, you can try to manually start a TM back up by selecting "Back Up Now" from the TM menu bar icon when you have the opportunity to plug in to power.
