iphone SE not charging over weekend

I have an iPhone SE running iOS 17.3

During the week it sits on my desk on its wireless charger and happily maintains charge, topping up after I occasionally use it for calls, Authy, etc

Over the weekend I leave on the same charger on the same desk and don't use it at all and 9 times out of 10 its lost all its charge by Monday morning.

I know the phone will charge wirelessly as it does so during the week.

I know the wireless charger works because the phone charges wirelessly during the week.

On a Monday morning I have to connect a lightning charging wire to the phone to get it to power on, then it will charge again to 100% using the wireless charger.

Its like the phone forgets to charge itself if it is not woken up over the weekend.

Any ideas on how I can get the phone to maintain its charge over a couple of days of non use?

Potential Causes:

1. Background Processes:

When your iPhone is in active use during the week, it's likely handling various tasks, updates, and app refreshes in the background. However, when it's left untouched over the weekend, these background activities might not be occurring as actively, leading to a sluggish automatic charging process.

2. Wireless Charging Optimization:

It's possible that your iPhone's wireless charging optimization might not be kicking in as effectively during periods of inactivity. The device could be entering a low-power state, limiting its ability to detect and initiate wireless charging.

3. Software-related Settings:

Certain power-saving or background app refresh settings could be affecting the iPhone's behavior over long periods of inactivity, leading to decreased wireless charging efficiency.

Potential Solutions:

1. Check Power-Saving Settings:

Navigate to your iPhone's settings and review the power-saving and background app refresh settings. Make sure that your device is set to allow wireless charging and background processes even during periods of inactivity.

2. Reset Wireless Charger:

Consider resetting your wireless charger or trying a different charger to rule out any potential issues with the charging pad itself. Occasionally, a reset can help recalibrate a wireless charger's ability to detect and charge your device effectively.

3. Software Update:

Check if there is a new iOS update available for your iPhone SE. Sometimes, new software releases include optimizations for power management and wireless charging behavior, which could potentially address this issue.

4. Scheduled Charging:

If your device supports it, you could consider using the scheduled charging feature available in some newer iOS versions. This would allow you to set specific times for your device to charge, ensuring it remains topped up, even over longer periods of inactivity.

5. Contact Support:

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it might be beneficial to reach out to Apple Support. They can provide specific insights tailored to your device model and iOS version.

There is no such thing as "Wireless Charging Optimization", only "Charging Opimization". The phone makes no distinction.

No, Background App Refresh and Low Battery Mode will have no effect on charging.

There is no such feature on an iPhone. There is Optimized Charging, but it does not allow the user to set specific times.
