I saw this was answered previously by turingtest2 in August of 2022 but his answer doesn't work with version 17.2.1 - the steps have changed.
On my MacBook Air, the music library looks fine - no duplicates. But every song on my iPhone 13 has been duplicated. How can I get rid of them besides click on each song one at a time and deleting it individually?

In the Finder on your Mac, select your device in the sidebar, then click Music in the button bar.
Sync music between your Mac and iPhone, iPad or iPod ...
This did not work. I attached the iPhone to the Macbook, found the device in the side bar, clicked Music, Sync Music:entire music library. It synced up. But when I look at my iphone, and pick Music>Artists and then select an album, I still have each song duplicated.
It's not every song on the album, just some of them.
