Extremely Slow/Freezing iPad

I’m ready to toss my iPad and buy a new one. It’s extremely slow and just seems to get stuck. BUT, before I do that, I thought I’d try one more thing - asking this group for help. I’ve got an iPad Air 3rd gen. Software is updated to iPadOS ver 17.2 , there is still 24 GB available, and we have great internet speed. I’ve googled and googled and tried everything suggested: background app refresh off, cache cleared, all apps closed, unused apps deleted, app notifications off, and more.

Is there anything anyone can suggest, other than a factory reset, that might not be included in all the most common lists of “Tips for Fixing a Slow IPad”? If I have to wipe it clean and start over, maybe I should just start over with a new one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
