How do I pay for a US account with a UK card?

I'm based in the UK and have a separate AppleID account from my work one. My work AppleID is US-based and I want to upgrade my iCloud storage on that account, but it won't accept UK cards to pay for it (or at least won't accept a UK billing address). How do I get around this particularly annoying Catch 22?

Others will say you must have a card from the same country but nowhere does Apple say exactly that. Apple doesn't outright make the simple and clear statement that you can't use a card from another country. In fact they imply you can in If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support where it says: "You might need to ask your financial institution to allow international purchases on your debit or credit card"

Nevertheless they seem to place various impediments that make it very hard to do so. It may be that they allow use of a card issued by another country, but the billing address has to be one in the country to which your iTunes and Apple stores are set. You really have to precisely interpret what exactly Apple does and does not say in its documentation. Again this is unstated but the basic premise appears to be you are resident of one country. Using a second account isn't really an easy way to get around the regional licensing restrictions. You may send a comment to Apple (I have been saying this for the past 20 years of seeing similar posts to yours so I wouldn't hold your breath).
