It seems like you're encountering issues accessing FaceTime and iMessage on your iPad mini after updating to iOS 17.3. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Check Internet Connection:

- Ensure that your iPad mini is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network or cellular data connection. FaceTime and iMessage require an active internet connection to work properly.

2. Sign Out and Sign In Again:

- Try signing out of your Apple ID account for FaceTime and iMessage, then sign back in. To do this, go to Settings > FaceTime (or iMessage) > Tap on your Apple ID > Sign Out. Then, sign back in with your Apple ID credentials.

3. Restart Your iPad:

- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Restart your iPad by pressing and holding the power button until the slider appears. Slide to power off, then turn your iPad back on after a few seconds.

4. Check Date and Time Settings:

- Ensure that the date and time settings on your iPad are correct. Incorrect date and time settings can cause issues with FaceTime and iMessage. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time, and make sure that "Set Automatically" is enabled.

5. Update to the Latest iOS Version:

- If you're not already on the latest iOS version, consider updating to the latest version available. Apple frequently releases updates to address software issues and improve stability.

6. Reset Network Settings:

- Resetting network settings can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that this will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, so you'll need to re-enter them afterward.

7. Contact Apple Support:

- If you've tried the above steps and are still experiencing issues, it may be helpful to contact Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide personalized support and troubleshooting steps based on your specific situation.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issues with accessing FaceTime and iMessage on your iPad mini running iOS 17.3.

Setting aside the largely unhelpful generative-AI/ChatGPT/Bot response contained in the first reply above, if you are experiencing difficulties with Messaging and/or FaceTime, start here:

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

If you continue to experience difficulties, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

How can they sign out if they're not able to sign in? Consider the logic there.
