How to ensure that text messages in a thread are not older than one year

I have some text message threads going back years with businesses. The dates over lap and cause confusion. How can I ensure that text messages in a thread are no older than one year.

Hello there, jgies!

I am so sorry that you encountered a problem with your old text messages, but I have some suggestions for you.

On your iPhone, Open Settings.
Scroll until you see Messages, open messages.
Under Message history, click on keep messages.
You can either set messages to save for 1 year or 30 days.

*Note: Keeping messages for 30 days or 1 year will permanently delete older messages.
