Stuck setting up 5th gen iPad for child

Dear all, I am trying to setup a 5th gen iPad (with latest iOS 16) for my kid using my iPad Air running the latest iOS 17.3.1. However, I got stuck on my iPad while signing in my child forever. (the screen where it's telling you to hold the iPad close to the other one). Any clue what's going wrong? (A family member was added before).

need technical support to acces to ipad 6th generation Dear sirs I have a problem with my child's iPad. I tried to control it with the Airdroid parental control app, but the configuration is not finished yet and the iPad is still like the attached image and the configuration does not finish after 12 hours. kindly provide us with the solution to this problem with thanks

I got it working. Just cancel the „remote“ setup and sign in with the credentials of your kid
