2020 M1 Mac Touchbar Issues

Hi! I'm currently having issues with my computer (MacBook Pro M1 8-Core CPU and 8-Core GPU 13" (Late 2020) 1TB SSD) running Sonoma 14.3. The problems began a few months ago when my touchbar would have a bright flickering at first when I would first open the computer after it had been asleep. This gradually progressed to happening while the computer is in use. Currently the touchbar either has no brightness but still can be used to adjust volume etc or has the bright flashing that requires I cover the keyboard to use it.

This is annoying but fine to me, but the problems have also now manifested as causing crashes for the computer. Today for the third time in the past few weeks I've had a crash with the message "virtual IOReturn ADPParamFIFO::programFIFO(IOMemoryMap *): ADP FIFO still busy after 1000ms". Some research of this message makes it seem like this crash is related to the touchbar. On the first crash I re-installed the OS but at this point am just sending the error reports. Have been running in safe mode.

Is there any potential fix for this? The advice I've seen involves hardware repair, which I will not be doing given the laptop currently has no trade-in value anyway. Time for a new laptop? Disappointing experience for me to say the least.
