installation in progress for 3 weeks

I tried to download Kindle app and new outlook. My kindle app has been "install in progress" for 3 weeks. How can I get rid of it?

Not knowing what you may have already tried, see if the following can help:

  • Try force-quitting the installation process: Go to the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and choose "Force Quit." Alternatively, you can press Command + Option + Escape keys together. This will bring up a window showing all currently running applications. Look for the Kindle app or any associated installation processes and select them, then click "Force Quit."
  • Once you've force quit the Kindle installation, remove the partially installed app: Navigate to your "Applications" folder in Finder. Look for the Kindle app icon and drag it to the Trash. After doing this, you'll want to empty the Trash to ensure the app is completely removed from your system.

Should neither of these help, I suggest that you download, and run an EtreCheck report. Optionally, post the report here should you need assistance with interpreting its results.
