Using dictation without enabling Siri?

I'm wondering if it is possible to turn on dictation without enabling Siri on my watch or any other devices. I would like to be able to text on my watch without typing on the tiny keyboard or drawing with my fingers, which is problematic especially when it is raining. However, I also find Siri irritating since its listening is frequently triggered by accident no matter which activation method I use, and apart from that, I'm not interested in having my conversation transcripts recorded and sent them to Apple.

Is there any way to enable dictation for texting without enabling Siri?

Hello.

I have the same watch as you do and I was able to do that. Just go into the watch settings and turn of Siri and your dictation in messages will still work. I completely understand you are worried about your privacy with Siri, but I just wanted to add in, transcripts are not sent to Apple unless improve Siri and dictation is turned on.
