Same Apple ID on two iphones

Hello, Now I have iPhone 12 which I use for (Work & personal) purposes. I decided to by another iphone to separate work from my personal use.


on my iphone 12, I have all my stuff. I want to transfer all of my data to my new iPhone and keep only my personal stuff -work not included- , I know how to do that.


My question is how can i keep my iPhone 12 backup regularly without merging the contents -specially photos to my new iphone? While I can manage what I can access from my new iphone if i want to use the same apple ID?

You can choose what you have on each of your iPhones separately, and still have the same Apple ID on both.


You have not given a lot of detail about what you want to separate so the options are many and varied. You could even have your 'Home' iPhone use all the iCloud services and the 'Work; iPhone few or none - rather than use iCloud Contacts you could use Gmail contacts or your work's list. Certainly you would want to turn off iCloud Photos on your work phone.


The two iPhones will backup to iCloud separately and independently.
