Will Apple eventually cut us off from music purchased in iTunes?

iTunes has gotten harder and harder to use since Music came along. For months I have been unable to search iTunes from my MBPro (Sonoma 14.1.1). I have not been able to see a choice of places to search at the upper right as some have alluded to here ("Library/Music/iTunes"). I choose iTunes in the only place it appears, in the sidebar, and as soon as I enter a search term, the focus switches back to Library. I actually have solved the problem at least temporarily and would like to post the steps.

Okay, having posted the problem let me now post what just worked for me, after an hour of trying and looking at the posts of others.

  1. Quit Music and re-open it.
  2. In Music Settings, under General, be sure the iTunes box is checked.

  1. Quit Music and restart it again. You may be successful and see the "Library/Music/iTunes" selection bars in the upper right like this
  2. Sorry, the numbering system has gotten messed up here and I don't seem to be able to correct it.
  3. BUT DO NOTHING once you see the choices, do not play any music etc. Enter your search term in the box at top of sidebar. Click on the "iTunes" selection as shown above. You should now get search results from iTunes. I have even been able to buy the album I wanted.
  4. I have tried this three times, including quitting the Music app and it has worked each time as long as I don't do anything else in Music except enter the search term and click on "iTunes" choice...Good luck.
