iPad mini 6th Gen, working fine but can not see it unless you put a flashlight directly on screen.

My son put his iPad down, went to school and when he came home we couldn't see the screen. I have restarted it, I have the brightness all the way up, but we can not see anything on the screen unless we put a flashlight in the screen and then we can see. It's the weirdest thing and we didn't know if it was an easy fix or if it's done for.

As described, the screen backlight has likely failed.


Given the nature of the problem, you would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) where the technicians will be able to rest and assess the iPad - and you can explore your available options:

This is one of the few instances where remote diagnostics will be of no use whatsoever.
