Name change is not working when viewed by other devices

I have changed my name legally and after I did so, I changed the name to reflect this on all my apple devices. I have an ipad pro, iphone 13, and a macbook pro 2023.

When i open Airdrop on my iphone 13 or my ipad pro, it says I will appear as my new name. When i open airdrop on my macbook, it has my old name for both devices.

I have done a hard reset on my iphone and ipad, and restarted my macbook. No changes occurred, there is still my old name on the macbook pro when air dropping. For my comfortability and safety, I need my new name to show when someone tries to air drop something to me at work. How can I fix this?

What does “the name” mean exactly? What field(s) did you change?

AirDrop uses a name genally found on “My Card” in the Contacts app.

I don’t have my Mac open right now, so I hope this follow-up makes sense.

AirDrop distinguishes between “My Devices” and “People”. Your iPad and iPhone screenshots clearly show “My Devices”. Your Mac screenshot shows nothing.

Does your Mac screenshot refer to “My Devices”? Are these devices appropriately labeled under System Settings > [your name] > Devices?

the Name means my ID name. I already changed it within My Card in the contacts app, within Settings>personal information>Name, and also have changed it on my Apple ID account online. All this has been changed on all of my devices yet my old name is showing up on airdrop on the macbook. On the phone and ipad when i open airdrop I see the device name rather than a government name. On my macbook, i am seeing my old government name instead of a device name OR my new government name.

This photo is from my Ipad. Everything is Labeled correctly and says the ipad should appear with the R. F. name, which is the correct name.This photo is from my Iphone, which also says it should appear with the R.F name. everything shows correctly here.

This photo is from my Mac book. as you can see it is showing both as A.H. which is incorrect.

Thank you for the quick response;

As you can see in the screen shots shared from my iphone and ipad, it says at the bottom I should appear as R.F. All of my devices are properly labeled, and the name has been changed in the contact ID, the system preferences, as well as on the apple ID online webpage preferences.

The Macbook screen shot shows that my devices are not showing as the R.F. but as A.H.. If airdrop is supposed to show as either a device name or the contact name then it should show my iphone as I -iphone, and my ipad as R. Ipad, or it should show as it says at the bottom of each screen shot "Appear as R.F" as that is my contact name and ID name across all devices now. It is doing neither of these things and showing the A.H. name, which was my legal name when I got my iphone and my ipad but has since been changed.
