Converting Protected Songs to MP3

I have purchased some songs to add to my car. It will only play MP3s. I do not have an Apple Music Subscription. I only purchase entire albums. I have been an iTunes user since the beginning and I have no idea when these were purchased. However, Kingfish was just purchased in December.

Colin,

You didn't say where you purchased them from, but I seriously doubt they are protected. (The iTunes Store stopped selling protected files in 2009.) Make sure the songs are downloaded to your computer and that they play correctly, before copying for the car. If you need them in a different format, follow these steps:
