Unable to Install MacOS after erase.
Hello. I have a problem where I performed an erase on my Mac's Internal drive to clear everything up. Now, I cannot reinstall MacOS onto my MacBook Air, an error keeps popping up. Please help me, I've tried everything and anything is worth trying. I do not have a Time Machine Backup. This is a 2017 MacBook Air 13".

What format is the drive?
In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.
APFS won't work for Sierra or earlier, Sierra or earlier needs MacOS Extended Journaled. High Sierra won't work for APFS on earlier Macs.
I too deal with MacOS update stomping on my data usage.:(

I can’t bear this anymore, it has sucked all of my internet data😡 now I turned off my Mac and turned it back on alongside Option Command R keys and it shows “Starting Internet Recovery This may take a while “ and at the end no good results so painful I almost cried

MacOS Catalina Installation Stuck or Fails with “The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.)”
This error has been reported to occur during installation of MacOS Catalina if the internet connection is disrupted or disconnected.
Insure that the Mac has an active wi-fi or ethernet connection and that the internet works as expected, and then try installing MacOS Catalina again.
After so many failed attempts it exhausts my internet data and I have been spending a lot of money to recharge here.
