Ring silent bypass for individual contacts

I would like to allow calls and texts from certain contacts to provide an audible sound (ring or text tones) when I have the silent /bypass switch enabled (ring switch set to silent). Previous threads have suggested that when I turn on the Emergency Bypass option in any Contact my problem would be fixed. The Emergency Bypass description on the phone says: "Emergency Bypass allows sounds and vibrations from this person when when the ring switch is set to silent."

However this does not work on my iPhone 11 Pro with IOS 17.2.1
