How to fix Bluetooth disconnections on Mac Studio, Magic Mouse, and Keyboard

I have a relatively new Mac Studio, Magic Mouse and keyboard. My Apple bluetooth devices disconnect daily for a few seconds, then reconnect. Also, no matter what I am working on, the Mac switches to another app, interrupting my work, including typing. If I'm not paying attention, I will keep typing and realize later there is nothing there.

Why do I have difficulty with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices when USB 3 devices are attached to my computer?

Some USB 3 devices can generate radio frequency interference that can cause Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices operating in the 2.4GHz band to have issues communicating with your computer. Here are some tips to avoid this issue:

• If your USB device has a cable long enough that you can move the device, place it away from your Mac—and make sure not to place it behind your Mac, or near the hinge of its display. The antennas for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are located there, and USB 3 devices placed there might interfere with your wireless connections.

• If you're using adapters or dongles on a Mac computer with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, plug them into the front port on the left side of your Mac, or into the ports on the right side (if your computer has them). These ports are the farthest away from the antennas, making interference less likely.

• To avoid interference on the 2.4GHz band using Wi-Fi, try using the 5GHz band instead. You can change this on your wireless base station. Bluetooth always uses 2.4GHz, so this alternative isn't available for Bluetooth.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I know how to switch windows, that isn't the issue. The problem I'm having is that the windows switch on their own. I will be working on a drawing and all of a sudden a window will open as if I clicked on it, or I could be writing an email or posting, then it will switch to the app folder as if I had opened it! This happens every day, several times a day and it's baffling. It wastes a lot of time as I need to go back to the app I am actually using.

Thanks for the reply. There are no cables involved, the 2 devices are wireless bluetooth devices, a Magic Mouse and Apple keyboard. The only other bluetooth device are headphones that I rarely use, but when I do I have zero issues with them, so I can pinpoint the problems to the 2 Apple devices I mentioned, and they are only a few months old.

You may need to read what I posted more closely.

An issue that users may face is that badly shielded third party USB-3 devices can emit EMI/RFI interference signals onto the airwaves around your Mac. These signal can be in the same range as 2.4 GHz WiFi and standard Bluetooth.

if re-arranging your devices in space does not provide relief, you may need a different pointing device. Whether that is due to interference or defect is unknown at this point.
