superdrive usb

my apple superdrive does not work on my Mac air osx 14 it has no usb ports I got a apple extended port still does not recognize put in older computer with usb port turns on. can anyone know why new Mac air does not recognize it

I'm not sure what you mean by "...extended port..."? If you mean you've connected the Superdrive to your Mac via a USB A - USB C adaptor, then the Superdrive should work. Make sure:

  1. There's a disk in the Superdrive.
  2. Your Finder is set to display it. Go to Finder-->Settings-->General, and make sure everything is checked.
  3. The Superdrive is connected directly to your Mac, and not thru a hub.
