"Mute Region" shortcut not working

I've been trying to use to mute individual regions in Logic Pro 10.8.1, and it's working using the Mute Region tool. However, it doesn't work when trying to use the Ctrl-M shortcut. I've tried checking if the shortcut is correctly assigned, and it seems to be.

Can anybody help with that issue ?

It is working just fine for me, so the first thing to do with keyboard issues is go to the System Settings, to Keyboard, to Keyboard Shortcuts, and Restore Defaults. Operating System level shortcuts override application level shortcuts. If that gets messed with, your apps will respond to it (usually negatively).

In Logic verify the shortcut hasn't been changed. In the Key Commands editor, search for "mute" and verify it's correct.
