Control Strip on M1 not responding to touch

My Control Strip is not responding to touch, it appears normal, i.e all the lights are on and they change according to what I am doing (music, safari etc) as they should be but when I touch it nothing happens. I've checked to settings and they seem fine, and have used terminal to try to reset it but nothing works.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.2
