Recovering Files from Deleted Library in FCP

I work on a shared computer, and unfortunately someone deleted a project I was almost finished with. I was able to find it the library in the backups... but all the files are missing. I put all my files on Final Cut and had to delete them off my memory card because I don't have much space on it. Is there anything I can do to recover the videos I had put in? Thank you so much.

What was deleted? The library or just the project?

If the library itself was deleted, and the media was inside it, then you won't get it back unless there was a backup somewhere (a full backup, not just a backup of the library structure).

If only the project was deleted, and the original library still exists, and has the media, then with a little bit of work we can put that media somewhere else, and relink it to the backup library.

Please elaborate.

First, to be clear, the Final Cut Backups that FCPX makes itself are only backups of the database, not the media.

Next, go directly to the Trash and see if what you need is in there.

Finally, you can do a system (Spotlight) search for media if you remember one or two clip names.

There is the possibility that if the Library was self-contained, put in the trash, and the trash emptied, without a full backup, it's gone. Shared computers need backups more than any other computer, for this reason, just FYI. And you should each have separate logins, for this reason.
