iPad Mini - terrible performance.

hello all! i have an iPad Mini 5th gen with the Apple A12 Bionic chip. the iPad has always been fast, and the battery has always lasted a really long time. when i first got it, i got 7-8 hours of SOT, and now i get a solid 6 -7, which is still very respectable. even 4 years later, the performance and battery life are still impressive.

after the iPadOS 17.3.1 update, my ipad has become incredibly laggy, and i can’t even get three hours out of the battery. simple games like subway surfers and geometry dash are incredibly laggy, typing is very delayed, when i try to open an app, it will be about 3 seconds before anything actually happens.

then all of a sudden, the iPad will start performing well again.

i got the iPad in mid 2020, but these issues seem to have started after this update. even sending an iMessage is a laggy mess.

any help would be appreciated. feel free to let me know if you’ve had this same problem.
