USB-C HeadPhone

I purchased a USB-C headset a few months ago. The music quality is excellent, but the microphone and call quality are problematic. The other person finds it really annoying because this headphone noise cancellation isn't working, which means it's picking up nearby noises rather well but not my voice. Is anyone else having this problem?

Do you know how to resolve this?

Just so you know, I used to use a 3.5mm jack for phone calls, and it worked flawlessly—the other person could hear me well.)

AFAIK, there is no significant design difference between the USB-C, Lightning, or 3.5mm Apple EarPods, except for the connector type. It could also just be possible that the pair you have are defective.

In addition, Apple has not provided us with any design details on the EarPods' microphone. For example is it directional or omnidirectional? You would think it would be the former and directed at you to reduce the amount of ambient noise affecting it.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. Not sure where you got the impression that these EarPods have noise cancelling capability. To clarify, they don't. It's the AirPods Pro that do.

The EarPods shape is very similar to the basic AirPods so they do not have a "sealed" fit in your ear. Thus sound can "leak" both in and out of them.

IMHO their only real advantage is their price. If you want headphones that are both excellent for audio quality and for voice calls (with active noise cancellation,) you should look at something else. In this case, the AirPods Pro would be a good choice.
