Apple ID keeps saying “incorrect password”

I use a Macbook Pro 15” and I want to sign out but it keeps saying incorrect password even though I know it’s correct. I recently changed the password using my phone. How do sign out? Under my account details for the mac theres an option “remove account” will it solve my problem?

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.10

I can say one thing and that is you do not want to delete your account. That could be referring to your entire user account on your computer an everything you have done in it!

If you changed your Apple Account password on your phone it should have been transmitted to the computer. Have you restarted the computer to give it a chance to refresh settings? You don't accidentally have the caps-lock activated or something?
