Why is my iPhone in SOS mode

Hello~ Once again this is a known and widespread carrier issue. I am sure it has their undivided attention right now. Be patient as that is all you can do.

Thats Weird because my phone and my daughters its on sos but my husbands phone is not, we have the same exact phone and we all are at home, so if its an outage why would two phones not work but the other one does, same tower we using, the only thing i can think of that is different is that he doesn’t have the lates update on ios on his phone but we do, maybe it’s related to that who knows.

There was a solar flare. My assumption is that it has caused some type of outage to certain devices as well as service providers.

Per the swpc noaa website, it states there is a potential impact of a flare with a wide area of blackout of radio communication.

It has nothing to do with SIMs vs eSIMs. It's a network outage.

Its not update related. I was in SOS mode when I woke up, did the update to see if it fixed it and still in SOS mode. Just want to stop you from going through the process of rolling back update because it probably won't fix anything.

No one here would know that. However, there are reports in various threads saying that people are seeing their service restored. So, I'd imagine most people will have service back by the end of the day.

I did the update and my phone says SOS and I can't make calls. my son DID NOT do update and he can make calls and no SOS. We are on the same cell service Att.

i think the problem is the update.

Same here. Two phones on plan updated, one not. The one that is not updated works fine. Other two are in SOS and nothing is working to get it off.

Hello~ This has nothing to do with Apple but your carrier. Be patient…

This is so weird, I am the only user in the house without service so I know it’s not location related. We all have att and Apple phones. Why am I stuck on SOS and without service? I have reset my network settings and toggles the airplane mode and all of the other quick fixes and nothing is working.

Yes, I woke up this morning to log on for work and I have to use my phone for VPN access when I’m working from home. I noticed every time I tried to call out there would be no connection. Then I realized my phone is on SOS. PLEASE fix this immediately, I’m now late logging in for work PLUS I have several meetings today. Come on y’all!

I have data that i pay at &t for but my iphone also went into sos mode this morning. I missed my brothers facetime (hes in the military) and its all because my phone is STUCK in SOS why is this happening?!?! I work from my phone!!!

Wake up call people....my wife refuses to go with a "Smartphone" and today she's right again. I have SOS mode on AT&T network. Something to think about considering how fragile we are. Our infrastructure is so fragile against cyberattacks and this is a pure example of that....they will all claim it's not a cyberattack so as not to rile the population. Everyone needs to wake up (including me)...

My phone was having this issue before I did the update, I proceeded to do the update in hopes it would fix it, it did not. My daughter’s phone is not having this issue. We are on the same cell service as well. The problem isn’t the update.

My phone hasn't had the software update yet and I thought it was because of that, so I don't think it's the update. I'm the only iPhone in the Att plan and I'm the only one suffering this inconvenience.
