SOS means that your phone is working, but is not connected to your carrier’s network. It can only make emergency calls on other networks. You need to contact your carrier to resolve this. Here is guidance from Apple→If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad

Here’s a way to check up on your carrier→Down Detector - Crowdsourced Outage Check

Thank you! Yes true i can make emergencies calls only. But how can I removed it so i am able to make regular calls?

If the problem is that your carrier's network is experiencing major outages, there is nothing that you can do to "remove" SOS mode, short of

  • contacting your carrier, and waiting for them to fix the problems with their network, or
  • switching carriers

There is a massive outage in the U.S. There is nothing you can do until the network issues are resolved.

AT&T customers report a massive outage, disrupting phone service across America

It wasn’t a matter of affected areas. AT&T service was out across most of the country, not limited to specific service areas.
Rather than go to a local store, which is staffed b sales people, not by techs, try calling and asking for a senior tech.

Indeed, if the problem is with the entire AT&T service, it has nothing to do with the region. You said that calling a senior technician sounds more effective than going to a physical store. After calling, can they solve the problem remotely? Or do you usually have to wait for their back-end to fix the service? It seems that going to the store to solve the problem is really unreliable, and the sales staff generally don't know much about these things.

My phone is on sos also & can’t call or text , or anything can dine tell me what’s going on ,& why we paying this services for? You need to give some credit out for what ever is going on , not fare to none of us clients ..

The problem is with AT&T's network. It's a safe bet they are not reading your post. If you have an issue with them, you'll need to contact them. I suggest you wait until the network outage has been resolved, though.

I have two users in the same location, same provider (ATT), different accounts. We both lost service just like everyone else. Once service was restored, my phone was back in service. The other user did not have restored service until 45-60 mins later. Not sure if it has to do with SIM vs eSIM, type of account, or slightly different settings (despite being on the same IOS). But it would indicate service restoration is not hitting everyone at the same time, even if they are in the same location.

My iPhone flashlight function is stuck in SOS mode.

The SOS indicator has nothing to do with the flashlight.

It indicates that you do not have regular cellular phone service, and that the best you might be able to do is to make an emergency call. In some countries, carriers have to put through life-and-death emergency calls (e.g. '911" calls to police/fire/ambulance in the U.S.) even if you do not have a valid contract with them.
