Hello, Kendra. On an iPad with iOS 17 you can open the image of the object, then tap it. You will see a white line wiggling around the object and see the command to copy the object from the image or to save the object as a sticker.
Now open an image of the background you want.
Go to "edit", then open the markup tools (the pencil tip icon) and click the + in the toolbar to see the command to add a sticker. use this to paste the object onto the different background.
I used this method to put the picture of this crane onto a painterly background - The original picture has been taken through a window pane with horrible reflections in the background.
instead of creating a sticker you can also use any edittor that allows you to paste something from the pasteboard into a document - a mail or a note.
