Missing too many calls! it Is too easy to hit the button and turn off ringer on the phone, including notifications and not be aware of it! if there is not a fix will need to trade this phone in.

I assume by ringer button you mean you're hitting the Action Button above the volume buttons?
If yes, open the Settings App and look down for Action Button. Slide through the options till you reach No Action, which will prevent you from muting your phone in the future.
