I can't receive text alerts from one of my contacts on my iPhone

I am not able to receive text alerts but only from one person. I don’t have their alerts off and i don’t have focus on. My phone will automatically read their message and not notify me when they text. Anyone know how to solve this? I get other text alerts just fine

Hi, alr1999,

It seems you're experiencing a specific issue with your iPhone where you do not receive text alerts from one particular contact, while alerts from others work fine. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this:

1. Check for a Hidden Conversation: Sometimes a conversation might be accidentally hidden or marked as spam. In your Messages app, ensure the conversation with this contact is visible and not hidden.

2. Check Individual Contact Notification Settings: Go to the contact's message thread, tap on their name at the top, and ensure that "Hide Alerts" is not enabled.

3. Examine Focus Settings: Even though you mentioned that Focus is not on, it's worth double-checking. Go to Settings > Focus and ensure no settings might be affecting notifications from this specific contact.

4. Delete and Restart the Conversation: Try deleting the message thread with this contact (ensure you've saved any important information) and start a new conversation.

5. Reset iMessage: Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages, wait a few moments, and turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve message notification issues.

6. Check for Do Not Disturb or Silent Mode: Ensure that your phone is not in Do Not Disturb or Silent mode, as these settings can affect notifications.

7. Software Update: Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.

8. Restart Your iPhone: Sometimes a simple restart can fix notification issues.

9. Reset All Settings: If none of the above solutions work, consider resetting all settings on your iPhone. This can be done under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Note that this will reset your saved settings but won't delete personal data.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be best to contact Apple Support for further assistance, as there could be a more complex issue with your device's software or settings.
