This issue might be related to your notification settings or Focus mode configurations. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve it:

1. Check Notification Settings for Messages:

- Go to Settings ➡️ Notifications ➡️ Messages.

- Ensure that **Allow Notifications** is turned on.

- Under **Alerts**, make sure all options (Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners) are enabled.

- Verify that **Sounds** is set to a tone you can hear.

2. Review Focus Mode Settings:

- Go to Settings ➡️ Focus (or Do Not Disturb).

- If a Focus mode is active, check its settings to see if notifications from contacts are being silenced.

- Add your contacts to the **Allowed Notifications** list under the Focus mode settings.

3. Check Contact-Specific Settings

- Open the Messages app and find a conversation with a contact.

- Tap their name or number at the top of the screen.

- Ensure that Hide Alerts is not enabled for that contact.

4. Reset Notification Settings:

- If the issue persists, you can reset all settings (this won't delete your data but will reset preferences):

- Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Transfer or Reset iPhone ➡️ Reset ➡️ Reset All Settings
