ICloud Backup

i want to upload all my photos and videos to iCloud, but I’m scared all the photos will be deleted from my iPhone! Can someone tell me what this means

If you sync with iCloud your data remains on your device and in the cloud to sync with your other devices. If you add a photo it adds everywhere. If you delete a photo it deletes everywhere.
