Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your smashed iPhone 7. While physical damage can make it challenging to recover data directly from the device, there are still a few options you can try:

  1. iCloud Backup: If you had iCloud Backup enabled on your old iPhone 7, your photos may have been automatically backed up to iCloud. You can check by logging into iCloud.com from a computer or using the iCloud app on another iOS device and checking if your photos are available there for download.
  2. iTunes Backup: If you regularly backed up your iPhone 7 to iTunes on a computer, you may be able to recover your photos from the backup file. Connect your new iPhone to the computer you used for iTunes backups and restore from the most recent backup available.
  3. Third-Party Software: There are several third-party software tools available that claim to recover data from broken iPhones. They may be able to help you retrieve your photos, but keep in mind that success rates can vary depending on the extent of the damage.

If none of these methods work, you may need to seek professional assistance from an Apple Store or a data recovery service. They may have more advanced tools and techniques to recover data from physically damaged devices.

I hope you're able to retrieve your photos successfully. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more assistance.

If you started from scratch with a new iPhone, then you either re-used the same Apple ID as the old iPhone and don’t have the photos (which means iCloud Photos was not enabled on the old, or means iCloud photos was enabled and is not currently enabled on the new), or you chose a different Apple ID for the new iPhone and don’t have the photos because different Apple ID.

If there are two Apple IDs here, you’ll need the Apple ID used on the old phone. If you have that, log into iCloud.com and look.

If the photos are not in iCloud with the common Apple ID or with the old Apple ID, then you’ll need backups from the old iPhone.

If you have no backups of the old iPhone, and there are no photos in iCloud anywhere, then you will need to have the old iPhone repaired while preserving the data, if that’s even possible.
