THE MAC PRO I'M TRYING TO LOAD MAC OS 12 IS A 2013 AND IT SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE AS IT'S IN THE LIST

The Mac Pro (Late 2013) desktop mini-tower can run Monterey. However, you said that you could not update your MacBook Pro to Monterey. The MacBook Pro is a notebook computer – and there are no 2013 Mac notebooks on the Monterey compatibility list.

macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers - Apple Support

You can upgrade Early 2013 MBPs as far as Catalina. You can upgrade Late 2013 MBPs as far as Big Sur.

What happens when you've already tried to install the macOS upgrade?

✅ Check the compatibility of your Mac hardware with newer versions of macOS software:

➡️ macOS 12 Monterey is compatible with the Macs listed here (c.2015)

If your Mac is compatible with the OS upgrade, then this:

Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Alternative Method–

➡️ Download the macOS upgrade installer app:

Click >   macOS 12 Monterey.

Once downloaded, double-click the “Install macOS…” app now found in the Applications folder to begin the upgrade.

Please see > How to download macOS - Apple Support.

There is some confusion about exactly which Mac you're trying to upgrade.

The subject line of your original post says MacBook Pro but you don't specify the year.

In your first reply, though, you call it a Mac Pro, 2013.

These are two very different computers with potentially different upgrade possibilities.

Can you please clarify what is actually correct?

The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the year your Mac was released.

Click the Apple menu () at the top of your screen and choose About This Mac.
