I need to delete e sim and activate my physical sim

The Verizon people told me a physical SIM card was better for my iPhone because of my location. We were trying to activate it but we had to use another phone to do so, when we were talking with Verizon they couldn’t verify my account, and now I’m having to use my boyfriends hot spot to talk with y’all

iPhone 11, iOS 16

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Physical SIM cards and eSIMs are both just carriers for information identifying you, as a subscriber, to the phone network.

How to erase the eSIM on your iPhone - Apple Support

Don't erase your eSIM unless Verizon directs (or directed) you to do so. As far as using a physical SIM to activate your iPhone, you could read Set up cellular service on iPhone - Apple Support … but it sounds like you might need to get back in touch with Verizon and ask them how to fix the jam they seem to have gotten you into.

I see that your tagline says that you have an iPhone 11.

If you have one of the iPhone 11 variants which accepts an eSIM, I believe that means that your iPhone can have a physical SIM and an eSIM active at the same time.

If by any chance you were asking Verizon about international travel, they may have been suggesting that physical SIMs were easier to obtain than eSIMs in some countries. But if you had an iPhone 11, with an eSIM for your main cellular plan, I don't believe you would want to delete the eSIM just to install a physical SIM for travel … not when you could keep the eSIM active, and temporarily add a physical SIM to use alongside it.
