iPhone camera will show picture animation, but doesn’t save photo and then freezes. Only happens on rear camera, front camera will take photos and save. Video on back camera works. Other apps with camera work fine. iOS 17.3.1, and was issue before

iPhone back camera will show the picture animation, like the white button shows clicked. But then it will not save a photo, and then I cannot click the white button again. I can take a video with the rear camera, and then take photos as I video. Other camera apps work amazing, so it’s definitely an Apple software issue. The front camera works fine, so I’m not sure.

has anyone had this problem? A restart doesn’t work, and I really don’t want to fully reset my iPhone for it to not work.
